Our Story

Steele House Kitchen & Bar, located in Stow, Ohio, is a nod to family, flavor, and local roots. Our story began in 1998 when Dan Mazzola opened Grinders Above & Beyond at this very location. After a decade of success, Dan transitioned the restaurant to the Rockne’s franchise in 2007, serving the community with dedication for over 17 years until May 2025. Ready for a new chapter, Dan joined forces with his son, Todd Mazzola, and nephew, Josh Speas, to bring a fresh vision to life: Steele House Kitchen & Bar.

Todd and Josh, who worked for Dan at both Grinders and Rockne’s for over 2 decades, branched out to become owners of Darby’s on 59 in 2015. Known for its eclectic, from-scratch American cuisine, Darby’s has become a local favorite, offering everything from crispy calamari and filet mignon sliders to mouth-watering desserts. After having spent over a decade perfecting our craft at our cozy Cuyahoga Falls restaurant, we saw an opportunity to expand our passion for community-driven dining to a larger stage, while staying true to the values that make Darby’s special.

At Steele House, we’re proud to carry forward Darby’s commitment to using the fresh, quality ingredients, supporting the Northeast Ohio community we cherish. Our menu consists of American cuisine, featuring carefully crafted dishes that range from hearty gourmet burgers to savory entrees and indulgent desserts.

Steele House Kitchen & Bar is more than just another restaurant. It’s a family legacy built on connection, quality, and good flavors. We invite you to join us, share a meal, and become part of our story in Stow, Ohio.
